CBSE 10th & 12th Board Exam Update: Check what the Central Board of Secondary Education announced for students who tested Covid-19 positive.
India has recently seen a sudden spike in the number of positive cases due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This has led the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to reconsider exam dates, especially for those students who tested positive. According to a circular from CBSE, if a student has tested positive for Covid-19, he/she need not worry about practical lab exams.
Exams for such students will be rescheduled in April or even after the exams as late as June 2021. The circular from CBSE also stipulates that students should take rest, remain in isolation and if not in a position to attend the exam, the same can be rescheduled at a later date.
A report from DNA India suggested that at least heads of two schools have opined that this decision will reassure parents and students. With patients count rising every day, many schools across the country have stopped the face-to-face classes and resumed the online mode.
CBSE has also allowed the students to change their exam centres for practical and theoretical exams earlier this week, giving the students maximum flexibility amidst such crises. Although the board doesn’t intend to cancel the examinations but are subject to change given the situation.
An official CBSE notification reads that the board is aware of the recent surge in the Covid-19 cases due to which many students and their families have shifted to some other city and therefore, are unable to appear in the practical/theory exam centre they registered for. Although there has been no official notification regarding the change in the board exam date sheet, the board is considering changing the dates for the students who tested positive.
More to follow on this. Stay tuned.
